Who Am I?

Thanks for visiting my charity stopover page (hopefully, you are just calling in here on your way to my JustGiving donation page).

My name is David Cooper, I am a Computer Scientist, School Teacher, Worship Leader, Songwriter, Science Fiction Geek and amateur cyclist from Hull, the UK’s 2017 City of Culture.

I have been cycling (semi-seriously) for the past 5 years, undertaking a 4 day ride from London to Paris (218 miles) in 2013 with seven others, and following that up with RideLondon in 2015 and 2016, joining the charity teams of Shelter and The Alzheimer’s Society, respectively.

This year, RideLondon once again beckons, but having gained ┬áplace in the ballot I am riding to raise funds for two of my school’s house charities, one of which I have a long-standing personal connection with. In addition, I am also riding the brand new Velo Birmingham event, which is another closed road 100 mile ride, and my fundraising efforts will continue across both events.

More information about the two charities can be found at the foot of the home page, along with a summary of my data from Strava (for anyone interested in seeing how my training progresses), and I would really appreciate any donation you feel able to make towards the work of these two amazing charities working to give poor children in Kenya the opportunity for an education and as better life.

Thank you,

David
